This University Diploma offers training in French as a Foreign Language for non-French speakers with asylum seeker, refugee or subsidiary protection status, to enable them to enter a French university stream to begin or continue their studies in higher education.
The DU is designed to offer a complete program, including intensive teaching and university methodology courses, as well as career guidance and integration workshops, socio-cultural activities and tutoring by peer students and teachers from our department.
Training objective:
- To enable students to acquire at least CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) level B1 in semester 1 and level B2 in semester 2, as well as skills in university methodology.
- Support students as they return to school.
- In addition to the acquisition of language skills, the course aims to provide students with the cultural and academic skills they need to integrate into a university education.
At the end of the course, students should be able to:
- Pursue studies in French higher education
- Meet the requirements of personal university work
- Take notes and write in French
- Speak in French
- Integrate into a work group
- Prepare their university application (search for information, write cover letter and CV)
