Resources to improve your French
The main university library (BU) and the Literature and Language Sciences Library offer French learning methods, grammar books, dictionaries, certification preparation, literature, comics and films. Ask your teacher or a librarian to help you choose material suitable for your level and class.
Finding a document and planning your visit
On the library website, open “Catalogue” and search by title, author or subject. Check the library, location and availability. At the main BU, French learning methods are found in Languages and Literature under shelfmark 804.0(07), and test preparation under 804.0(02). The video library offers subtitled films to practise listening.
Registration, borrowing and your reader account
Registration is automatic for students administratively enrolled at Paris Nanterre, except for non-degree auditors (auditeurs libres). Your student card is your library card. Non-degree auditors must register with the library under the conditions applicable to their status. Other visitors should consult registration conditions. Open “Mon compte” on the library website to view loans, return dates and reservations. Return materials on time and contact the library if you encounter a problem.
Digital resources, computers and Wi-Fi
Activate your account through digital identity to use authenticated services. The BU offers computers and Wi-Fi. Nanterre students may borrow a laptop for the day, subject to availability; return it to the Pixel no later than fifteen minutes before closing. Equipment and connection conditions. Study spaces and training
The Pixel provides collaborative study spaces and activities using digital resources. The BU offers free library research training upon registration and appointments with a librarian. Literature and Language Sciences Library
Located on the third floor of Paul Ricœur Building, this library provides literature and language sciences collections, study places and equipment. A return box is available in the building hall outside library opening hours. Check its official page for its own hours and conditions.
Disability access and assistance
The main BU provides an adapted room upon request for SHA-registered students; librarians can bring documents from inaccessible upper floors. Lift access to the Literature Library in Ricœur requires a badge: ask building reception for help and plan your visit with the SHA. Hours and contacts
Regular main BU hours: Monday–Friday 8:30–20:00; Saturday 10:00–18:00. Check closures and reduced hours before travelling.
