Rules and instructions

These rules apply to every examination session.

Special requests

Teachers cannot deal with individual requests for exceptions, postponements or administrative matters. Send any such request to the departmental office: secretariat-fete@phillia.parisnanterre.fr.

Who may take a resit?

Only students officially invited to sit a resit examination may attend. Missing an assessment held during classes does not automatically entitle you to attend the annual resit session.

Late arrival

Once examination papers have been handed out, entry is normally prohibited. The invigilating teacher may allow a late student to sit the examination if the delay does not exceed one third of its duration, up to a maximum of one hour. No extra time is granted, and supporting evidence may be required. For a one-hour examination, the maximum delay is 20 minutes.

Temporary absence

No temporary exit is permitted for examinations lasting two hours or less. For longer examinations, a temporary exit may be allowed only after the second hour, one student at a time, without documents or communication devices. The student must leave their student card with the invigilator.

Connected devices

Mobile phones, smartwatches, headphones, earpieces and all other connected devices are strictly prohibited during the examination. Switch them off and put them out of reach with your belongings. A breach may lead to disciplinary proceedings for cheating or attempted cheating.

Cheating

If cheating or attempted cheating is suspected, an official record and report are prepared. The student normally continues the examination, except in cases of impersonation or disruption of the examination.

Leaving the examination permanently

You cannot leave permanently before the end of the first hour. For an examination lasting one hour or less, you must remain until it ends. You must hand in a paper bearing your name, even if it is blank. If you do not hand in a paper, you are recorded as absent from the assessment.

Overlapping examinations

If two examinations take place at the same time, contact the departmental office promptly. These instructions reflect the Université Paris Nanterre examination charter.

Assessment and resit calendar 2026–2027

Semester 1 classes and assessments: 14 September–18 December 2026. Semester 1 examination board: 14 January 2027. Semester 2 classes and assessments: 18 January–23 April 2027. Annual resits for semesters 1 and 2: 31 May–9 June 2027. The detailed examination timetable will be published once approved. Timetables from 2025–2026 no longer apply.

Programmes offering resits

The annual resit session applies to DU FLE A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2 and DU Passerelle B1/B2 students who are officially called to sit examinations, in accordance with their programme’s assessment rules.

PLCF assessment

The Perfectionnement en Langue et Civilisation Françaises (PLCF) [University Diploma] is an approved university diploma. The PLCF does not offer resit examinations: its assessment rules do not provide for a second examination session. Students who do not pass may submit a new application for another semester. Re-enrolment is not automatic and remains subject to admission, administrative enrolment and payment of the applicable fees.

Results and access to examination papers

Results are available in the university digital environment (ENT). They are provisional until the examination board deliberates. To request access to your examination paper, contact secretariat-fete@phillia.parisnanterre.fr for the procedure and viewing calendar. The 2026–2027 examination board orders will be published once approved.
