UPN student welcome guide: Practical guide to your student experience 2026/2027

The department offers four programmes:

1. University Diplomas in French as a Foreign Language (DU FLE), from level A2 to level C2, with 20 hours of classes per week. The level shown is the target level at the end of the semester.

2. The DU Passerelle University Diploma, for students in exile, designed to prepare them for further study in French higher education.

3. Perfectionnement en Langue et Civilisation Françaises (PLCF), a certification offered from level A1 to level C2, with 6 hours per week.

4. The Intensive French Course (SIF) [University Diploma], a 25-hour intensive programme held for one week before classes begin each semester.

Students enrolled in initial education may submit one application for a tuition fee exemption, before making any payment and within the timetable published by the university. The exemption granted may be full or partial. DU Passerelle students are exempt from tuition fees.

CVEC: for the 2026-2027 academic year, the amount is €105. Any student who is liable for the CVEC must obtain proof of payment or exemption before administrative registration. Scholarship students, refugees, beneficiaries of subsidiary protection, and asylum seekers who have the right to remain in France may be exempt depending on their situation. University library access fee: an additional €34 for DU FLE and PLCF, in accordance with the 2026-2027 fee schedule. View the tuition fees and charges brochure.

DU Passerelle: admitted students are exempt from tuition fees and have free access to university services. CVEC rules continue to apply according to each student's individual situation.

Exchange students: they may take up to three PLCF courses free of charge during the same semester; each course awards 3 ECTS, subject to availability. Fee-paying individual applicants have priority.
